Atwood Street will be closed between Forbes and Fifth Avenues from approximately 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 6. This also means that Euler Way will not be accessible via Atwood Street during this window.
The eastern sidewalk will remain open, but the western sidewalk will be unavailable. The parking garage for the UPMC Medical Arts Building will not be accessible at this time.
Fifth Avenue will be closed between Chesterfield Road and Craft Avenue beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 25 and continuing through 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 27.
Local Traffic from Chesterfield Road and those looking to park in the Kaufmann Garage will be allowed access to this section under the supervision of a flagger.
Halket Street will be partially closed beginning on Tuesday, July 22, and is expected to reopen by Thursday, July 24. The closure will occur between Fifth Avenue and Euler Way. Euler Way will remain open for left turns onto Halket Street, but no right turns will be permitted.
Pedestrians and cyclists should note that the sidewalk in this area will also be closed.
Robinson Street Extension will be partially closed on Saturday, July 19 and 26 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. These closures will impact the portion of the road in front of the Charles L. Cost baseball field near Champions Drive.
During these closures, flaggers will be present to alternate traffic flow through a single lane, so motorists will still be able to drive through the area.
North Bellefield Avenue will be partially closed between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, July 21. The closure will take place in front of the Information Sciences Building between Bayard Street and Fifth Avenue. The western sidewalk and southbound lane will not be accessible. Please be aware that Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) has also closed a portion of this block, which makes the front entrance to the Music Building inaccessible. Those needing to access the Music Building should use the rear entrance via Ruskin Avenue.
Thackeray Avenue will be closed between Fifth Avenue and Sci-Tech Drive from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. through approximately July 25. This closure will occur on weekdays only; the road will be open over the weekend.
Both sidewalks will be available during the closure, so pedestrians and cyclists will not need to use a detour. However, we ask that cyclists please dismount and walk with their bicycles. Motorists may use Sci-Tech Drive and North Bouquet Street as a detour.
North Bouquet Street will be partially closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 10. The closure will occur between the O’Hara Street and Engineering Department Drive intersections and includes the road, sidewalk, and parking spaces.
North Bellefield Avenue will be partially closed between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, July 7. Bigelow Boulevard will be closed between Forbes and Fifth Avenues beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 27. The road is expected to reopen in the early hours of Sunday, June 29. The road and bicycle lanes will be closed, but the western sidewalk alongside the William Pitt Union will remain open. Flaggers will be present at the three impacted crosswalks to help direct pedestrians. Cyclists may dismount from their bikes and walk along the open sidewalk.
O’Hara Street will remain closed between North Bouquet Street and Thackeray Avenue until July 11, with the road expected to reopen by evening that day. The sidewalk along Benedum Hall will remain open; pedestrians should not experience any changes to existing conditions. Cyclists are reminded to dismount from their bicycle or scooter when on the sidewalk.
